"Fairfield Stone Wall" - Photo Print
The mountains of The Lake District are covered with dry stone walls. Some of them cross slopes and terrain that makes you wonder how they managed to be built there and who was responsible for creating it.
This particular wall meanders its way up this ridgeline from Low Pike to High Pike and has been there for many years allowing lichen and moss to build up on it. I love the textures in the wall and how over time it has become wonky, yet somehow still remains sturdy and steadfast.
My eye was drawn along the wall and up the hill. The fog and clouds provided a sense of mystery but also calmness as the fog lingers and clings to the hillside.
